Details of a dream I had the other day
I dreamed that I met up with the dad of one of ---y's schoolfriends (a guy I've seen around at pick-up time but never spoken to) and we went off to a video shop that was located in a council estate I'd never been to before. I bought a porno film and was heading home to watch it when ----i woke me up.

I was pretty annoyed at having been woken up before I got to see the video but later I thought about it. Did this count as an 'erotic dream'. If so it strikes me as a particularly poor one. I mean, dreams are places where anything can happen; where one's sexual fantasies can be safely realised within a stable, monogomous relationship, right? I could have been dreaming I was with the porn star herself, but dreaming I bought a porn video? what the fuck kind of dream is that? Buying a porno is something that happens in real life, not dreams (except that I don't buy porn in real life). You don't dream of buying a porno film. The dream itself is supposed to be the porno film (if you're lucky). It wasn't even a DVD, just a shitty VHS.

I wonder how it would have panned out if ----i hadn't woken me up. Would I have dreamed of taking the cassette home, putting it in the VHS, having a 'Barclay's Bank' and then going off to the post office to buy a book of stamps? What's next? a dream about reading a newspaper article about flying?
