Happy New Year (god I'm lazy)

01:02:2004
Also: Happy Birthday --m, Merry Christmas and everything else I haven't bothered writing about
Saw in the new year in Vienna. ----i and I went to dinner at ----r and ---i´s. As usual for a New Year´s eve in Austria there were a bunch of kids outside setting off bangers the whole evening. At midnight they celebrated by getting out the really loud bangers. Then we got a phone call from --------e who told us the kids had both woken up and were showing no signs of going back to bed until we came back, so our new year´s eve lasted until 1.15am and then we had to get home to put the kids back to sleep.

We all woke up at 10am. I didn´t feel too bad- in fact better than most New Year´s days. –m was going nuts so I took him to the local playground to let off steam while ----i and ---y stayed home and watched the New Year´s day concert on TV. The closest playground to us is set in a small dog turd strewn park surrounded on three sides by high rise (for Vienna) council flats. As soon as we arrived I could tell they´d had a jamboree last night by the thick carpet of spent bangers and fireworks covering the playground. –-m ignored them and set about climbing and sliding. I noticed several unexploded ones lying around and picked them up; ostensibly to prevent their falling into the hands of immature individuals but also with a vague plan to set them off myself once they`d dried out.

Mr Thomas part 5 coming soon- check back here mid-Jan.
