It seems that one of our films (The Electric Bull Riding Contest) has been awarded the 'Vauxhall VX Auteur Award' at the Halloween Short Film Festival
The award was presented to Blunt Director Ben Slotover at the Institute of Contemperary Arts on January the 8th 2006, and comprised of a statuette and a cheque for £200.
In a short speech, Slotover passed on thanks to his computer and vowed to spend the money on the rental of a Vauxhall car which he would drive around whistling 'Zippidy Doo Dah'. The remainder of the money would go toward making another film.
He also praised the makers of the other films nominated and made a special plea to filmmakers everywhere to improve the sound quality of their films. This was met by a slightly confused silence from the audience, some of whom had merely wandered into the room to visit the bar and had no idea an awards ceremony was going to take place.
Slotover then thanked his computer again and left the stage.
